  • Eric Locke honored as U SPORTS Top 8 Academic All-Canadian by Governor General

    The U SPORTS Top 8 Academic All-Canadians for the 2016-17 season, including former X-Men hockey captain Eric Locke, were honoured in Quebec City on Friday morning. Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, the newly-apppointed Governor General of Canada, presented the fifth annual Governor General’s Academic All-Canadian Commendation to the eight recipients, during a ceremony at the Citadelle of Québec, her official residence in Quebec City.

  • Dirk, Cook and Clarke to represent Canada on U SPORTS all-star team

    Three X-Men hockey athletes have been selected to the U SPORTS all-star team that will play an upcoming two-game series against the Canadian national junior team. Forwards Micheal Clarke and Holden Cook and defenceman Jagger Dirk will join their head coach Brad Peddle who is also the head coach of the all-star team. Peddle was an assistant coach with the all-star squad last year and Cook will be making his second consecutive appearance on the team.

    The StFX X-Men (15-1-2) wrapped up first term play with a 5-2 win over the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus (3-13-2) in AUS men’s hockey action at the J.-Louis-Lévesque Arena Saturday evening.

    The Dalhousie Tigers were shutout by the U SPORTS ranked No. 4 StFX X-Men at the Halifax Forum Wednesday night. The Tigers got plenty of opportunities, but strong power play unit, and a stellar performance by their goaltender saw StFX take the win.
  • X-Men win fifth straight game with 2-1 victory over Axemen

    The U SPORTS No, 4 ranked StFX X-Men topped the No. 7 ranked visiting Acadia Axemen 2-1 in their last home game of the fall term. The victory marked the fifth consecutive win for the X-Men in a rough-and-tumble game Friday evening at the Charles V. Keating Centre in front of a crowd of 900.

    The U SPORTS No. 7 ranked Acadia Axemen (7-2-1) won in a nail-biting 6-5 overtime game over the No. 3 ranked StFX X-Men (8-1-1) Friday night. The Axemen had built up a 5-1 lead and the X-Men almost pulled off the comeback.
