  • X-Women top visiting Mounties 4-1

    The U SPORTS No. 5 ranked StFX X- Women kept the opposition scoreless through two periods to defeat the visiting Mount Allison Mounties 4-1 Saturday afternoon at the Charles V. Keating Centre during their final game of the fall term.
  • X-Women hockey pleased to introduce second wave of recruits for 2018-19

    X-Women hockey head coach Ben Berthiaume is pleased to announce the second wave of recruits for the 2018-19 season. Three new athletes to commit to the X-Women program include forwards Kaya Brossard from North Vancouver, B.C. and Lea MacLeod from Dartmouth, N.S., along with defence Josie Chisholm from Antigonish, N.S.

    X-Women hockey head coach Ben Berthiaume is pleased to announce the commitment of three new athletes for the 2018-19 season. All three are from the province of Alberta and include defence Emma Thomas and Hannah MacDonald, along with forward Tyra Meropoulis.

    The StFX X-Women needed overtime to defeat the Mount Allison Mounties 2-1 Friday night at the Tantramar Community Centre. X-Women forward Daley Oddy netted the game winner 37 seconds into the extra frame for the win.

    The X-Women hockey team completed a three-game exhibition trip to Ontario with a 2-1 record. They earned wins over Guelph (4-3) and Toronto (5-4) and dropped a 1-0 decision to Waterloo.
  • Newest inductees enter StFX Sports Hall of Fame

    StFX Athletics was pleased to induct its 21st class into the StFX Sports Hall of Fame Thursday evening at the Schwartz auditorium. Joining the Hall as the 2017 inductees were three athletes:  John ‘Bunny’ Griffin (football), James ‘Jim’ Shea (football), Leanne MacDonald (women’s hockey) and one builder, journalist Gail MacDougall.

    The Saint Mary’s Huskies skated to a 3-2 win in overtime over the StFX X-Women Saturday afternoon at the Keating Centre auxiliary arena. The victory avenged a 2-0 X-Women shutout in Halifax the evening before.

    StFX Director of Athletics & Recreation Leo MacPherson is pleased to welcome Ben Berthiaume as the new head coach of the X-Women hockey program. Berthiaume takes over from David Synishin who recently stepped down from the head coaching role.
