Catterall, Hamilton and Roseway earn football player of the week honors
X-Men wide receiver Jordan Catterall was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 23, 2012. Jordan, a third year Business student from Oakville, Ont., caught a 44 yard first quarter touchdown pass in Saturday’s 36-17 loss to the Mounties. He led all X-Men receivers with 120 yards in the air on 5 catches, and also had two rushing plays for 10 yards. On special teams, Jordan added 8 punt returns for 52 yards. He is currently 2nd in the AUS in receiving yards/game (89.0).
X-Men football linebacker Brendan Hamilton was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 23, 2012. Brendan, a second year Business student from Calgary, AB, led all defensive players in the game with 9.5 tackles in the X-Men’s recent 36-17 loss to Mount Allison. Brendan had 8 solo and 3 assisted tackles, and was also in on two tackles for a total loss of 2 yards.
X-Men receiver/returner Randy Roseway was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 23, 2012. Randy, a second year Arts student from Ottawa, Ont., played well on the X-Men returning until in their 36-17 loss to Mount Allison. He had 2 kickoff returns for 49 yards and 1 punt return for 8 yards. Randy also added 3 catches for 38 yards and a rush of 8 yards on offense.
