Dickson, Comtois & Hubbeard latest X-Men football athletes of the week
X-Men running back Ashton Dickson was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 30, 2012. Ashton, a second year Arts student from Ottawa, Ont., led the X-Men in rushing this past Saturday in their 32-9 loss to Saint Mary’s. Ashton had 100 yards on 18 carries, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. He also caught one reception for 11 yards, giving him 111 total all-purpose yards in the game.
X-Men football defensive back Dominique Comtois was named the StFX Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 30, 2012. Dominique, a fourth year Arts student from Drummondville, QC had three interceptions in the X-Men’s recent 32-9 loss to SMU. He gained 84 total yards on the 3 picks, including returning one for a 55 yard touchdown in the second quarter.
X-Men linebacker Brett Hubbeard was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 30, 2012. Brett, a fourth year Arts student from Peterborough, Ont., played well on special teams coverage for the X-Men in their 32-9 loss to SMU. He had several individual tackles on both punt and kickoff coverage. Brett tallied 6.5 total tackles (4 solo, 5 assisted) in the game including two tackles for a loss of yards.
