X-Men Win 2 on the Road
November 30, 2010
The StFX X-Men won both their games on the weekend in PEI after taking a pair of tough losses earlier in the week at home to the Dalhousie Tigers and on the road in Cape Breton. Saturday night X-Men defeated the Panther’s 100-85 and Sunday afternoon X-Men won 100-86.
In game one of the weekend the X-Men knocked off the Panthers 100-85. Christian T-Bear Upshaw made his return to the starting lineup leading the way with 16 points and six assists while fellow backcourt partner Will Silver tallied 14 points and five assists.
The X-Men were able to take care of business despite UPEI’s attempt to keep the game close. Fifth year senior Alberto Rodriguez grabbed ten of StFX’s 38 rebounds in the game.
The second game of the two day trip to PEI showed much of the same from the previous night as the X-Men scored 100 points once again to knock off the Panthers 100-86. Christian Upshaw stole the show scoring 27 points, while Dwayne Johnson who returned to the court after an injury-riddled campaign notched 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Jeremy Dunn for the X-Men played center position where he kept the UPEI under control as he scored 17 points and had nine rebounds.
Will Silver showed his consistency for the X-Men finishing with 15 points.
The Panthers were lead by Jonathan Cooper’s 22 points and eight assists.
