Basketball X-Men bettered by Ryerson
On the strength of a 59-29 second half, the X-Men were bettered by the Ryerson Rams 102-61 in exhibition play Friday evening at Mattamy Athletic Centre.

Toronto, ON – On the strength of a 59-29 second half, the X-Men were bettered by the Ryerson Rams 102-61 in exhibition play Friday evening at Mattamy Athletic Centre.
The team played to a 22-22 first quarter with the Rams taking a 43-32 lead into halftime before opening up a larger lead in the third quarter en route to the victory.
Adika Peter-McNeilly was the Rams top scorer with 21 points while Ammanuel Diressa scored 15 and Jovan Leamy netted 14. Filip Vujadinovic scored 11 and added 10 rebounds for a double-double night.
The Rams (41-82) outshot the X-Men (25-78) from field goal range on the evening, 50.0% to the visitors 32.1%.
Leading the X-Men in scoring was Kevin Bercy with 18 points, along with 12 rebounds. Akil Charles scored 12 and freshman Justin Andrew scored 9 off the bench. Julius Antoine added nine points for the X-Men.
The X-Men will close out their exhibition trip to Ontario with a Saturday night in Hamilton against McMaster. Tip-off is 8:00 pm EST.
