Javon Masters (Kitchener, ON) scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Varsity Reds in a 93-84 win over the StFX X-Men as UNB Varsity Reds not only earned the victory, but also a bye in the first round of the Subway AUS Championship.

The youthful UPEI Panthers struggled mightily in the third quarter where they scored just six points, and the StFX X-Men took full advantage, as they came away with a 72-60 win Friday night.

The StFX X-Men (8-10) defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks (5-13) for the second time this weekend, playing to a 92-62 victory Sunday afternoon at the StFX Oland Centre.

The Saint Mary’s Huskies (9-6) defeated the StFX X-Women (6-10) by a 75-68 margin Tuesday evening on Coach K Court at the StFX Oland Centre. The victory was worth four points in the AUS standings for the Huskies.

Varsity Reds edge out X-Men 86-84

The UNB Varsity Reds (13-3) defeated the StFX X-Men (6-9) in a close 86-84 game that went down to the final second Saturday night on Coach K Court at the StFX Oland Centre. The win was worth four points in the AUS standings for the Varsity Reds who took over sole possession of second place.

X-Men earn big road win over nationally ranked Tigers

In AUS men’s basketball action at the Dalplex, the StFX X-Men upset the AUS first place and U SPORTS No. 8 ranked Dalhousie Tigers 91-64 in a big victory on the road. The X-Men avenged a loss to the same Tigers squad on Tuesday evening in Antigonish.
