2026-27 AUS Men’s Hockey Schedule Announced

(HALIFAX, N.S.) Atlantic University Sport is pleased to announce the complete schedules for the 2026-27 women's and men's hockey seasons.
Men's Hockey
AUS men's hockey fans can look forward to a Wednesday, Oct. 7 start date for the 2026-27 season. The Acadia Axemen will host the 2026 U SPORTS silver medallist Saint Mary's Huskies at 7 p.m. on opening day.
The remaining teams will open their seasons Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
The eight-time defending AUS champion and 2026 U SPORTS bronze medallist UNB REDS open their season on the road versus the STFX X-Men in Antigonish, N.S. The REDS' home opener is set for Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. when they will play host to the UPEI Panthers.
The fall competition schedule finishes on Wednesday, Dec. 2, with teams taking to the ice again on Wednesday, Jan. 6.
The final regular season games of 2026-27 will be played Friday, Feb. 19, with the top six teams moving on to postseason play. This will feature three rounds of playoff series with the top two seeds receiving byes into the semi-final round.
The 2027 U SPORTS University Cup men's hockey championship will take place March 25-28 and will be hosted by UQTR in Trois-Rivières, Que.
The Atlantic conference will receive two berths in the national championship which will be awarded to the conference champion and runner-up.

Women's Hockey
The 2026-27 AUS women's hockey season begins on Wednesday, Oct. 14 when the UPEI Panthers play host to the Mount Allison Mounties in the AUS season opener. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. in Charlottetown, P.E.I.
All eight AUS teams will see action that weekend with three games set for Friday, Oct. 16 and four set for Saturday, Oct. 17.
The reigning AUS champion and U SPORTS bronze medallist UNB REDS will open their season at home and raise their championship banner Friday, Oct. 16 when they will play host to the Saint Mary's Huskies for a 7 p.m. game.
Fall semester play wraps up on Wednesday, Dec. 2, with the winter semester getting underway on Friday, Jan. 8.
After regular-season competition concludes on Friday, Feb. 19, the top six teams will move on to post-season play. This will feature three rounds of playoff series with the top two seeds receiving byes into the semi-final round.
The 2027 U SPORTS women's hockey championship will take place March 25-28 and will be hosted by the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, N.B.
The Atlantic conference will receive three berths in the national championship. The REDS will receive one berth as hosts, and the remaining berths will be awarded to the AUS finalists.
Should UNB advance to the AUS championship final round, a consolation final series will be held to determine the recipient of the conference's third berth at nationals.
