Getting to Know...Miro Novak

X-Men soccer defender Miroslav Novak is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women and X-Men series throughout the summer. Mira recently completed his fourth year with the X-Men and is a Human Kinetics student from Prague, Czech Republic.

What brought you to StFX?
My story is more complicated. I came to StFX as an exchange student, but I fell in love with the university, the athletic program, and everything that comes with it. Also coming from a big city of Prague to small town of Antigonish was something new and different that I wanted to experience.

What has been your best moment in a StFX uniform so far?
Probably hosting AUS playoffs my first year with the crowded stands.

What are you most looking forward to this season?
As it will be my last year, I am looking forward to go through the whole process of every day work again for the last time. I just want to enjoy the path and everything on it, and we will see where it will get us.

Who has been the most influential person in your life (and why)?
My parents, they have always been inspirational, taught me the right values, and to be responsible for my actions. If it wasn't them, I wouldn't be where I am right now.

One thing I cannot live without is...?
Sports. I always like to try new ones.

My dream vacation destination is...?
Anywhere with the people I love. I am also a big fan of planes, so it would need to be with the new Airbus A380 :)

Tell us one thing that fans may not know about you?
Despite the fact I am 6'7'' I am scared of heights.
