X-Men Soccer welcomes Hall of Famer Trevor Reddick as assistant coach
The X-Men Soccer program is proud to announce the appointment of Trevor Reddick as a part-time assistant coach.
Antigonish, NS — The St. Francis Xavier X-Men Soccer program is proud to announce the appointment of Trevor Reddick as a part-time assistant coach. A celebrated figure in the history of X-Men Soccer, Reddick returns to STFX, bringing with him a legacy of excellence forged both on the pitch and beyond.
Reddick served as a dominant defender for the X-Men for four seasons, from 1990-91 to 1994-95, earning AUAA all-star recognition in every season he competed. He was named a CIAU first-team all-Canadian in his final year, earned CIAU tournament all-star honours twice, and was recognized as the 1994 STFX Male Athlete of the Year. A two-sport varsity athlete, Reddick also competed in varsity wrestling during his time at X, where he was a top contender in the Atlantic conference.
As a player, Reddick was part of one of the most storied chapters in X-Men Soccer history. He was a member of the 1993 and 1994 STFX teams that captured back-to-back AUAA championship banners, ending a 30-year conference championship drought. The 1993 team, which included nine Antigonish natives, was later enshrined in the STFX Sports Hall of Fame at the 2024 induction ceremony. Reddick himself was previously inducted into the STFX Sports Hall of Fame as an individual athlete, a testament to a playing career that defined an era for the White and Blue.
His soccer accomplishments extended well beyond Antigonish. Reddick was league MVP and a member of the Halifax King of Donair (KOD) soccer club who were national senior champions in 2001. The Canadian Soccer Association lists KOD as the third most successful team in the history of the national senior championships. Following his playing career at STFX, Reddick also had stints with the semi-pro Ottawa Wizards, as well as with professional clubs FC Lazne Bohdanec (Czechia) and Southend United (England).
As a coach, Reddick spent nine years as head coach of the STFX X-Women, winning the AUS championship in 2009 and earning AUS Coach of the Year honours in 2005. From 2004-2012, Reddick guided the X-Women to a 46-35-31 (W-L-T) regular season record, including seven straight play-off appearances from 2005-11.
"Trevor Reddick embodies everything the X-Men Soccer program stands for," says X-Men head coach Graham Kennedy. "His on-field accomplishments speak for themselves, but it's his understanding of what it means to be a leader and teammate that truly sets him apart. We are very happy to have him back with the X-Men program."
Reddick himself has spoken passionately about the values that drove his success as a player. At the 2024 Hall of Fame ceremony, he reflected that the championship teams' success was built on a foundation of teamwork and a relentless work ethic - a culture in which every player pushed one another to be better, knowing that their strength lay in unity and shared commitment to excellence.
Coach Reddick will join the team in August and comments, "I am super excited to be working with Graham. He has taken the X-Men program to a perennial powerhouse level, and I can't wait to work with the many talented student-athletes he has brought to STFX."
The X-Men Soccer program looks forward to the 2026 season with Reddick lending his experience, passion, and championship pedigree to the next generation of X-Men.
