Black named AUS Track Rookie of the Year

Celeste Black of the X-Women indoor track team was named the AUS Female Rookie of the Year this past weekend at the AUS track & field championship held at the Universite de Moncton.

Celeste finished second overall in the women’s 600m race, running in at a time of 1:38.83. She was second only to Dalhousie Tigers Celia Peters who is currently ranked second overall in the entire CIS.

Celeste also competed in the 300m race where she was fifth overall, finishing at 43.85 seconds. She was a member of the second place 4x200m and 4x400m relay race teams and scored the highest point total of any female rookie athlete at the championship. She is first year Business student from Halifax, NS.
