X-Women Ice Hockey defeat Moncton

X-Women hockey team won their lone AUS regular season game this Friday at home. The CIS No.4 ranked X-Women faced off against Moncton and won 4-1. Currently X-Women are 4-0 in regular season play.

The first period of play against Moncton was scoreless. The X-Women then fired off 3 goals in the second period to take a 3-0 lead. Alex Normore (1:45) scored a quick power play goal to get StFX on the board. Suzanne Fenerty and Janelle Parent with the assist. Nicole Hansom (7:42), assisted by Jenna Pitts, fired a shot past net minder Kathy Desjardins to bring the score to 2-0 in StFX’s favor. Molly MacDonald (13:49) scored StFX’s third goal, a power play goal, assisted by Megan Innes and Jenna Downey.

In the third period X-Women Brittney Perkins (9:52), assisted by Carolyn Campbell, scored StFX’s forth goal. The Aigles Bleues responded with a power play goal by Valerie Boisclair (16:40). The final score of the game was StFX 4, UdeM 1.

Final shots in the game were 36-13 in favor of the X-Women.  Katie Greenway picked up the win in nets, while Kathy Desjardins was tagged with the loss for Moncton.

X-Women next see action this Saturday November 6th, 2pm at Dalhousie.
