X-Men run to second win of the season

Led by Connor McGuire’s second consecutive individual victory, the StFX X-Men raced to back-to-back meet championships with a win at the Acadia Invitational in AUS cross country action Saturday in Wolfville.
McGuire (26:08) led a contingent of X-Men runners that raced to top-three finishes, which included Riley Johnston (26:23) and Zach MacDonald (26:31), who finished second and third, respectively.
X-Men Bryden Tate (fourth, 26:36), Dennis Kayumba (seventh, 26:49) Aaron Doucette (eighth, 26:51) and Steven Deering (11th, 27:22) rounded out the top-10 finishers for the blue and white.
William Forsey (16th, 28:18), Ben Gunn-Doerge (22nd, 28:34) and Ryan Hawkrigg (23rd, 28:37) also competed for the X-Men.
On the team side, the X-Men finished with 16 points, outdistancing the Dalhousie Tigers (65) and Memorial Sea-Hawks (79) on the podium.
The UNB Varsity Reds and St. Thomas Tommies rounded out the top five.
The X-Men return to action Saturday, Oct. 8, when they compete in the University of Moncton Invitational.
