X-Women cross country tops at Acadia meet

The StFX X-Women made it back-to-back victories to start the season with a first place finish at the Acadia Invitational AUS cross country meet in Wolfville Saturday.
The X-Women finished with 20 points in the 5k race, followed by Memorial (54) and Acadia (91). University of Moncton, UNB and St. Thomas also competed.
Caroline McIlroy, Memorial Sea-Hawks, won top spot individually, crossing the finish line in 18:14.
X-Woman Natalie Kannenberg raced to second place with a time of 19:00, while teammate Melissa Hardy finished third in 19:27.
StFX runners Kelly MacDonald (fourth, 19:40), Tory Anderson (fifth, 19:45), Liz O’Connell (sixth, 19:46), Natasha Herron (seventh, 19:52) and Meggie Soehl (eighth, 19:59), Heather Snow (ninth, 20:01) rounded out the top-nine finishers.
X-Women teammates Kathryn Tuck (21:00) and Beth MacNeil (21:01) finished 12th and 13th, respectively.
The X-Women return to action Saturday, Oct. 8, when they will compete in the Universite de Moncton Invitational.
