X-Men forwards David Muenkat and Deon Ejim were selected in the recent Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) draft on Wednesday. The STFX athletes are the only ones from the Atlantic University Sport conference to be selected. Muenkat was chosen ninth overall by the Scarborough Shooting Stars while Ejim was 18th overall by the Calgary Surge.
X-Men forward David Muenkat is the recipient of the U SPORTS defensive player of the year award, as announcing at the gala awards show in conjunction with the Final 8 championship.
The AUS champion STFX X-Men are seeded No. 4 heading into the U SPORTS Final 8 championship and will play the No. 5 seeded Queen's Gaels in Friday's 6:00 pm quarterfinal game.
