Muenkat and Ejim selected in CEBL draft

X-Men forwards David Muenkat and Deon Ejim were selected in the recent Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) draft on Wednesday. The STFX athletes are the only ones from the Atlantic University Sport conference to be selected. Muenkat was chosen ninth overall by the Scarborough Shooting Stars while Ejim was 18th overall by the Calgary Surge.

David Muenkat named U SPORTS defensive player of the year

X-Men forward David Muenkat is the recipient of the U SPORTS defensive player of the year award, as announcing at the gala awards show in conjunction with the Final 8 championship.

X-Men seeded No. 4 for Final 8, will play Queen's in quarterfinals

The AUS champion STFX X-Men are seeded No. 4 heading into the U SPORTS Final 8 championship and will play the No. 5 seeded Queen's Gaels in Friday's 6:00 pm quarterfinal game.

David Muenkat and Tyrell Vernon receive AUS major award recognition

David Muenkat is the 2022-23 AUS men's basketball defensive player of the year, while Tyrell Vernon garnered honours as the AUS coach of the year. Muenkat was also named an AUS first team all-star, while teammates Deon Ejim and Dondre Reddick earned AUS second team all-star status.

The STFX X-Men will tip off on Saturday, February 25th at 3:00 pm in the AUS semi-final game against the winner of the UNB-CBU quarterfinal match. The complete championship schedule was released by Atlantic University Sport.

The U SPORTS No. 5 ranked STFX X-Men closed out AUS regular season play with a 93-82 victory over the Saint Mary’s Huskies Saturday night on Coach K Court at the STFX Saputo Centre.

Grumbach sets STFX single game 3FG record as X-Men outpace Axemen 116-70

The U SPORTS No. 5 ranked STFX X-Men won their fourth consecutive game with a 116-70 victory over the Acadia Axemen Tuesday night on Coach K Court at the Saputo Centre. The game marked the annual Coach K Challenge, a game played between the X-Men and Axemen in honour of former long-time X-Men head coach and Acadia alumnus Steve Konchalski.

X-Men handle Axemen 95-74

In their final home game of the season, the Acadia Axemen were defeated by the AUS first-place STFX X-Men 95–74. David Muenkat (Brampton, Ont.) led the way for the X-Men, earning the title of Subway Player of the Game.

The Atlantic University Sport-leading STFX X-Men scored an 86-64 win over the UNB REDS in a four-point game Sunday afternoon, at UNB’s Richard J. Currie Center.

The U SPORTS No. 7 ranked St. Francis Xavier X-Men were too much for the Saint Mary’s Huskies to handle, taking down the home team 91-73 on Saturday night at the Homburg Centre.

X-Men split weekend games with Panthers

A strong fourth quarter and shooting 50 per cent from the three-point-line helped the UPEI Panthers drop the STFX X Men 76-71 on Coach K Court Saturday afternoon. The Panthers avenged a blowout loss from the previous night to the No. 6 U SPORTS ranked X-Men, who picked up their third loss of the season.
